Snowboard instructor training in Westendorf.
The ten-day snowboard instructor training takes place in the Westendorf ski area. The advantage of the December training is that you can start working at your ski school right away after earning your Anwärter diploma!

The Anwärter is an official Austrian vocational training program, meaning the language of instruction is German. In addition to regular classes, you’ll be supervised by a Dutch-speaking instructor and a certified snowboard instructor. The instructor is familiar with the training program and provides additional theoretical guidance in the evenings. They’ll help you with all the basic teaching principles of ski instruction and the methodical steps you need to know to teach effectively. The day before the practical exams, all the important points will be discussed, so you can start the exams in the best possible way.

Our counselors are available from morning to night to help and support you in completing your studies. They also ensure you always know where to go and are ready to answer all your questions!

Daily program:
In the morning, you’ll have practical training on the slopes, where you’ll improve your skills and learn how to teach snowboarding.
In the afternoon, there are theory lessons covering topics such as teaching methods, methodology, kinesiology, materials science, teaching children, and first aid.

In the evening, Dutch instructors will be present to help you with theory, practice, and your “Lehrauftritt” (teaching). There will also be time to relax and socialize with the other participants.

Snowboard training in the Netherlands:
It’s important to start your training fit and healthy. We organize training sessions in the Netherlands several times a year. Want to know when? Click here for the dates.

During snowboard training, you’ll learn the basics of proper skiing position and movement, which you’ll need to demonstrate during the practical exams. And of course, it’s fun to get to know your fellow students!

Online theory tool
To optimally prepare you for the course, we’ve developed a handy online tool. This allows you to review the basics of the theory before the course even starts. The most important topics are summarized in both Dutch and German, so you’ll not only learn the theory but also improve your German language skills.

You’re not expected to master everything in detail before the course begins, but this tool will certainly help you get off to a flying start. By reviewing the theory beforehand, you can focus more on practical application and further deepening your knowledge during the course!

German Language Course for Ski Instructors:
The Anwärter qualification is an official Austrian vocational training program and is taught in German. Introducing yourself and making small talk is the foundation of what you need to be able to do. If you’re not yet proficient in this area, we recommend taking the online German course and then ordering the specialized German ski instructor course. This course is aimed at ski instructors, but it’s also a good way for snowboarders to prepare for their career as a snowboard instructor.
