Want to further develop your skills as a ski instructor and teach more advanced skiers? The ten-day Landes 1 training course will give you a significant boost in both your skiing technique and teaching skills. The Landes 1 is the next step after obtaining your Anwärter diploma in the Austrian training system and opens the door to more challenging lessons and wider career opportunities in ski schools. This training takes place on the Hintertux Glacier, where skiing is possible year-round.

The Landes 1 course is an official Austrian vocational training program, meaning the language of instruction is German. In addition to regular classes, you will be supervised by a Dutch-speaking instructor and a certified ski instructor. The instructor is familiar with the training program and provides additional theoretical guidance in the evenings. They will help you with all the basic teaching principles of ski instruction and the methodical steps you need to know to teach effectively. The day before the practical exams, all important points will be discussed so you can start the exams in the best possible way.

In addition, the support staff is also available to explain the program and ensure you know where to go. Our support staff are always ready to answer your questions!

Daily program
In the morning you have practical training on the slopes, here you improve your own skills and learn to give ski lessons.

In the afternoon there are theory lessons including didactics, methodology, kinesiology, materials science, teaching children and first aid.

In the evening, Dutch instructors will be present to help you with theory, practice, and your “Lehrauftritt” (teaching). There will also be time to relax and socialize with the other participants.

During ski training, you’ll learn exactly what you’ll be assessed on during the practical exams. And of course, it’s fun to get to know your fellow students!
